FART (2010)

This is my album for RPM 2010. The only real reason that the title is "FART" is that I wanted to use that particular piece of artwork for the cover, and it kind of already had the text on it. But on the other hand, 'fart' means 'speed' in Danish and I had less than two weeks to do the whole album, I guess it adds up somehow... I was moving from one country to another in the beginning of February and from the 8th to the 15th I was in Egypt for a family vacation so the entire album is really written and recorded in less than two weeks which adds to my contentment with the result but it also took away from the quality of many of the recordings and compositions. There are so many things I would have tweeked/redone if I had more time. Many of the recordings are done in the wee hours of the night/morning and many are furthermore first takes because I couldn't stay focused and tight for that many takes when it was 4am or something like that. It features me playing my 6-string fretted bass, my 4-string fretless bass, an acoustic guitar, an Egyptian bongo-like drum, shakers, a cow horn and my bansuri (a bamboo flute). I expected to be playing two, maybe three instruments (the ones I actually know how to play somewhat) so it was interesting that it turned out to be as many as seven. And I didn't even touch the piano...
